Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.
Prolific writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at young women.
The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."
A Prolific Literary Career
Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.
This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
